Dose / Dosing

Dose originates from the Greek "dosis" ≈ quantity. Thus dosing means determining the quantity of a material/substance. This process can be conducted volumetrically (measures of capacity: litre, cubic centimetre, etc.) or gravimetrically (weights: kilogramme, microgram, etc.). When dosing mixing ratios, as e.g. 7:4:1, it is important to use the same unit for all components.
