Acrylate gel

When liquid, acrylate gel shows a very low viscosity (similar to water) and it is used for subsequent sealing masonry and structural concrete elements (curtain and masonry injection), joints and cracks, cavities and subsequent horizontal water barriers. Acrylate gel is highly chemical resistant. Due to its elasticity after the reaction and due to the excellent swelling capacity, acrylate gel is appropriate for the sealing of expansion joints. The swelling behaviour is reversible, i.e. a stable acrylate gel absorbs and releases water/moisture only to a limited extend. The recipe influences the properties; that way e.g. the reaction times can be limited (between some seconds and several minutes. Acrylate gels rich in solids are used for special applications. These show only a slight shrinkage when the soil or component moisture falls below the level of dryness.
