Building moisture

The term building moisture (Example: Residential house) refers to the moisture that is still existent in new buildings (e.g. in the screed, masonry, roof structure, etc.). The following measures taken already during the building phase help to keep the building moisture as low as possible: perfect ratio; professional after treatment of the cementitious constructional elements; protection of the building materials (e.g. the wood truss) against rain; dry, warm, windy weather, etc. After the completion of the new building a methodical ventilation and heating plan helps to remove the building moisture as quick as possible. Negligent treatment and a high amount of moisture increase the risk of mould formation up to the infestation with dry rot.
