SIVV Certificate

For the repair of damaged structural concrete elements/buildings, public authorities assign their orders to companies with appropriate expert staff only. The proof of qualification is provided by the so-called SIVV Certificate. SIVV is the German abbreviation for Schützen, Instandsetzen, Verbinden und Verstärken von Betonbauteilen (protecting, repairing, connecting, and reinforcing of structural concrete elements). The training and examination regulations have been established by the training council „Schutz und Instandsetzung im Betonbau beim Deutschen Beton- und Bautechnik-Verein e.V.” During the execution of concrete repair work at least one person holding a SIVV Certificate must be present on public sites. The proof of qualification must be furnished at 3 yearly intervals. More and more private clients demand the supervision of concrete repair work by certified experts.
