Water penetration test (construction)

The water penetration test serves for measuring the water absorption ability of construction materials. The Karsten tube, named after its developer Professor Karsten, belongs to the non-destructive test methods and is easy to use. A scaled test tube filled with 10 ml of water is fixed to the surface of the test object. The water level in the tube (scale) after one minute shows the amount of water absorbed.
