Coring

There are different requirements for taking a core sample, e.g. findings concerning the material and condition of a structural element, if so down to the ground behind, are required, specimen shall be analysed and tested (concrete strength testing) etc. The coring must be carefully planned and realized. Important are e.g.: sampling point/s, borehole diameter, borehole depth, stability of the structural element/object, device and method, the core sample may not be changed due to the coring (e.g. due to tensile or compressive impacts), etc. Coring belongs to the destructive materials testing methods.
