Dew point / Temperature of dew point (construction physics)

The term dew point defines the temperature at which the humidity is 100 % and the additionally existing water vapour condenses on surfaces in the form of condensate/dew/condensation water. In closed rooms this condensation may cause mould formation if no appropriate counter action is taken. As the water vapour absorption capacity of the air depends on both the temperature and the relative air humidity already achieved, the dew point is a variable value.
