Thermal cleaning

Thermal cleaning or flame cleaning is a method of preparation of concrete and metals. With the help of an extremely hot flame physical processes and chemical reactions are caused with the result that undesirable deposits will vaporize, burn or no longer adhere. In the case of porous materials as concrete, the abrupt, intense heating of the surface provokes a sudden volume expansion of the humidity in the pores spalling the upper layer. This effect happens in the range of millimeters and allows a gradual removal of the surface. Thermal cleaning may cause disturbances in the structure of the treated object, particularly if carried out in an impropriate manner.
